The village of Balingup has a magic all
of its own.  Surrounded  by rolling hills and river valleys, there are numerous craft centres, potteries, specialty
shops and cafes to visit.  It is home to the Small Farm Field Day (April), the Medieval Carnivale (August), and
many other events. 

The Blackwood River Valley and the area around Balingup is famous for its rolling hills and scenic beauty.  Balingup is also proud of its Golden Valley Tree Park with its unique collection of beautiful and interesting trees from all over the world.

The world renowned Bibbulmun Track runs though the village, and there are
many options for either short walks or longer treks.

Golden Valley Tree Park
A unique collection of beautiful and interesting trees from all over the world, grown in a landscaped setting.  Fine views of Balingup from the hilltop in the Australian section.  Many walk trails; of varying degrees of difficulty, picnic area and toilets.  Free entry but a donation would be appreciated. Old Padbury Road, Balingup    (2kms south of the town)

Balingup Lavender Farm
Farm with over 10,000 lavender plants.  Large garden of lavender, roses and cottage plants.  Lavender products and hand crafted products, local art and crafts and light refreshments are available.  Plants for sale. Nannup Road, Balingup.

Birdwood Park Fruit Winery
Award winning fruit wines. Free wine tasting and cellar sales of fruit wines.  Horses and alpacas.  Seasonal fruit sales and jams, chutneys and other preserved goodies. Picnic table. A pleasant place to visit with plenty of space to turn caravans.   Brockman Road, Balingup.

Famous for its wide range of herbal products.

The largest craft and antique shop in Western Australia.

Attractions in Greenbushes

Greenbushes is an historic town located 10 minutes to the south of Balingup.
The town has a strong mining and timber milling history.

Mine Lookout
Panoramic views over the Sons of Gwalia main mine pit.  See a working mine
at a safe distance.  Open daily 8am-5pm.  No entry fee.

Eco-Cultural Discovery Centre
This is a 'Living Windows' exhibit, which focuses on the mining and milling history of the area.  Open on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am-2pm.  No entry fee but donations are much appreciated.

The Old Gaol
Built over 100 years ago.  Open every day.  No entry fee.
