Chestnut Brook self-contained accommodation Balingup

Self Contained Accommodation - FAQs

Q.  What do I need to bring?

The cottage provides fully self contained accommodation. You need only bring clothes, personal items and your food.  We supply complimentary teabags, sugar and coffee sachets but as the cottage is self catering you need to supply all your own food.   A teapot and a coffee plunger are available in the cottage.

The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, glassware, cutlery, utensils and appliances.  There is a full gas stove, a good size fridge and an undercover gas BBQ.  All crisp bed linen and towels are supplied.  A TV, DVD, CD player, games and jigsaws are included along with a small library of books.  Although some CDs and DVDs are supplied, you may like to bring any favourite CDs or DVDs with you.
Check out further details of what is provided on the facilities page.

Q.  Is there somewhere for us to eat out?

Although holidaying in fully self contained accommodation, it can be pleasant not to have to cook every meal. There are numerous cafes and a tavern in Balingup open during the day. Good breakfasts are available at most of the cafes. For an evening meal the tavern has a restaurant and we also have a French restaurant.  There is the option of obtaining a takeaway evening meal from some of the cafes.  Depending on the season one or two of the cafes may also be open in the evening.   Alternatively you may prefer a short drive to Bridgetown, Kirup, Donnybrook or Nannup depending on which nights you are here, and the type of meal or restaurant you desire.
Check out further details on our Eating Out page.

Q.  May I arrive early or leave late?

Check in time is usually after 2.00pm on the day of arrival and check out time 10.00am.  We try to be as flexible as possible, and early arrival / late departure may be arranged depending on whether we have other guests immediately prior to or after your visit.

Q.  How many cottages do you have?

We only have the one.  Chestnut Brook Cottage is surrounded by its own cottage gardens and is distanced from neighbouring properties.  In this we offer something unique.  Chestnut Brook Cottage is not one of a row of cottages, nor is it set in the middle of a paddock.

Q.  We wish to walk on the Bibbulmun Track.  Can you drop us off along the track somewhere so we can walk back?

Yes, we provide a free drop off service along the track - up to approx 25 kms away - so that you may walk back to the cottage at your leisure.

Q.  May I bring my dog?

Due to the abundant wildlife around the property, in particularly the birdlife, we do not allow pets.

Q.  Is it possible for you to pick us up at the Bus Stop when we arrive and drop us back there again when we are due to leave?

Yes, we are happy to provide a pick up and return service to the Bus Stop upon arrival / departure.  This is a free service.

Q.  When I arrive in Balingup, how do I find Chestnut Brook Cottage?

When your booking is confirmed and secured by a deposit, we will send you a mud map either by email or ordinary post.  You will receive this with plenty of time before you leave home.

Also see where we are located on the large Map of Balingup
There are also directions on how to find us on our contact details page.

Q.  We wish to go for a walk after 'check out' or before 'check in' time.  Have you someplace we can park our vehicle while we do our walk?

Yes, you may leave your car on the property while you walk.

Q.  If we arrive early, and before the cottage is ready, may we leave our luggage or supplies with you while we go off and explore?

Yes, we will provide storage of luggage and/or supplies.

Q.  Do you have fax and email facilities for guests?

There is no telephone at the cottage.  If you wish to send a fax or email these are available at reception.
