The Medieval Carnivale (also known as the Medieval Carnival, Faire or Festival) was first held in 1998 and is held on the 4th weekend in August each year.

Over the years the Carnival has grown in both size and fame and is one venue to display the creativity and talent that can be found in the Balingup community.  The Carnivale is held over two days and early on both the Saturday and Sunday afternoon there is a colourful parade where you will see floats and fabulous costumes being worn by locals and visitors alike.  The Carnivale is full of fun and entertainment, and makes a wonderful activity for families.

In 2008 the Carnivale will again be held over two days on the 4th weekend of August - Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August.

Free entertainment is provided all day, on both days, by regular entertainers such as Medieval Mayhem, the Belles of Bagdad and the Grey Company.  New acts are also sourced each year in order to add something different.

Medieval stall holders are on hand to tempt you with food, drink and a variety of merchandise.

August is when the tulips are usually flowering, with mass plantings along the main street.  Banners also line the main streets so Balingup town provides a colourful backdrop for the Carnivale.

To ensure the Carnival remains sustainable there is a small admission charge.

Adults: $10
Children under 12 years of age:  No charge
