Balingup - Mumballup - Lowden - Balingup
Scenic Drive


The drive from Balingup to Mumballup, through Lowden to Donnybrook, and then return to Balingup is a 103km round trip.

Begin by travelling north from Balingup along the South Western Highway,
and turn right into to Grimwade Road (just north of Balingup).  The old Grimwade townsite is 15 km along this road.  There is a sign post into the old townsite where old house foundations and evidence of previous gardens with ornamental trees may still be found.

Grimwade road becomes a gravel road after the old township.  Continue
along Grimwade road another 20 km to the Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Road at Noggerup.  Turn left here.

Mumballup is only 8 km along the Donnybrook-Boyup Brook Road. 
Here you will find a Tavern and general store and about 5 km further on is the Mandalay Winery on Mandalay Road.  The road passes through Lowden and past Thompson Brook winery on its way towards Donnybrook. 
The road takes you through farmland and orchards.

At Donnybrook stop for a look around the shops and cafes before returning to Balingup by driving south along the South Western Highway.

There are also a number of wineries along the South Western Highway between Donnybrook and Balingup. These are open for tastings and cellar sales.
